Christmas in the Philippines lasts until February 2. Christmas lanterns and lights adorn the streets during the Parol festival.
Jan 9: Black Nazarene, Quiapo, Manila. Devotees flock to the miraculous Black Nazarene in Quiapo.
Jan 11-13: Ati-atihan, Kalibo, Aklan. Commemorates the 13th century land deal between ten migrating Bornean chieftains and the aboriginal Ati King Marikudo.
Jan 18-20: Sinulog, Cebu City. Cebu City's fiesta of fiestas features street dancing.
